We were delighted to recently host the launch of 'Smart Lotto' by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny. At it's launch at our conference venue in Dublin An Taoiseach Enda Kenny spoke of the company’s plans to fundraise €15 million on behalf of clubs and charity organisations by March 2016 with the use of the Smart Lotto App.
Smart Lotto consists of a mobile app which allows users to play their local lotto as well as donating money to charities. The fundraising app allows people within Ireland as well as Irish expats all over the world play their local lotto thanks to this fundraising app. The company behind the app aims to create20 jobs in Belmullet over the next two years. The app idea was developed by director Padraig who was simply looking for a way to help fundraise his child's local soccer team. It took two years to develop and complete the app.
Speaking to Mayo News, Sinead Keane of Smart Lotto said that the new app will allow clubs and charities to fundraise in an easier fashion. How the company manages each club's lottery is by sending menbers push notifications to remind them to do the lottery as well as up.loading news onto members' feeds. The app also allows people to pick their own numbers and the cost of the ticket is deducted from the account.
The company intends to grow to ovre 20 employees in the next two years. “It’s been a long time since this type of jobs announcement has happened in Belmullet. Padraig and Noel could have set up offices in Dublin or Galway but it is great they chose to keep it local,” said Ms Keane who is head of marketing for Smart Lotto.
The Minister for State at the Department of Tourism and Sport, Michael Ring said that the creation of 20 jobs was good news for the town and people of Belmullet.
“This is an example of how government is spreading the recovery by bringing sustainable full time employment to the outlying regions of the country,”concluded Minister Ring.
The launch of Smart Lotto is just one of the launches held recently at our Dublin venue.
