The Round Room at The Mansion House is known for it’s lavish events, incredible décor and of course our fabulous food. Although it would be difficult to pick one particular dish we favour from our menu selection, there is one element that everybody loves…. our exquisite desserts.
Since 2008, our partners “With Taste” have employed a full time patisserie team of six chefs lead by Michael Madill, who brings the best of luxurious cakes and premier desserts to the Conference and Events Venue.
Michael Madill gained his experience working in various high-end establishments, which include the Four Seasons Hotel and the Ritz Hotel in London. Keen to always keep up to date with the latest trends Michael recently visited Paris to partake in the exclusive and very sought after Cocoa Barry Chocolatier course. Michael’s talent and creativity has played an integral part in delivering an innovative product range to the dessert, sweet canape and the themed menu options available at the Round Room.
Michael’s key to success is as result of his love for food and for making people happy: “I enjoy bringing a smile to our customers with sweet concoctions and we work hard as a team to make this happen”.
In 2011, The Round Room in the Conference and Events Venue was chosen for the state diner of Queen Elizabeth the II. For Michael and his patisserie team, this was a highlight of their career. Michael created a Glenilen set cream, strawberry consommé, David Llewellyn apple balsamic meringues, yoghurt mousse and topped the dessert with brown bread biscuits. A desert literally fit for a Queen.
The most popular dessert available at the Round Room is our mouth watering Chocolate and Raspberry Torte which is served with an orange scented crème fraiche, raspberry chard and pistachio gel.
