BRIEF HISTORY

The Round Room at the Mansion House was built in 1821 to receive King George IV as it was deemed that there was no room grand enough in the city to receive royalty. For nearly 200 years the Round Room has continued making history and has been the venue of choice for some of the most notable events in Irish History, such as the proclamation of The Irish Declaration of Independence. In 1921, 100 years after the room was built to receive the British monarch, the Anglo-Irish Treaty was ratified here. Since then it has been the venue of choice for some of Ireland's most spectacular gala dinner, conference and award ceremony events. Click here to read more history.
